General Information

How do I get to the Cliff Park?

We recommend you allow ample time for your journey to the Cliff Park. Enter the Lamington National Park via Binna Burra Road and follow it to the Binna Burra Lodge Precinct. Once you've parked there, a brief, enchanting forest trail will lead you to the start of your adventure.

What parking is available?

Upon your arrival at the Binna Burra lodge, you'll find a parking lot with clear signage guiding you to the Happitat starting point. Should that be full, rest assured, there are additional parking spaces scattered along the road.

How do I prepare?

Comfortable clothing and a mindset for adventure are a good start. Remember, Happitat is about challenging your physical and mental limits, so preparing yourself to confront your fears and embrace the thrill is an essential part of the journey.

What should I wear?

Comfort is key for an enjoyable adventure. We recommend clothing that is suited to the weather and that allows for a full range of motion. Closed-toe shoes with good grip are essential. In colder weather, layers are a good idea as you will warm up as you climb.

What happens in bad weather?

Should the weather turn unwelcoming and unfit for climbing, we'll notify you in advance based on our weather planning forecasts. In such circumstances, we'll gladly reissue your tickets for a more weather-friendly day.

Are there food and beverages available?

Absolutely! We understand that adventure builds up an appetite and thirst. At Happitat, we offer a variety of refreshments to energise you for your journey or help you recharge afterward. You can start your day with a cup of freshly brewed barista coffee, hydrate with our healthy drinks, along with a selection of other thirst-quenching beverages. We also provide a small selection of snacks perfect for a quick boost.

In addition to these, free water fill-up stations are available, ensuring you stay well-hydrated during your adventure.

For a more substantial meal, you're invited to visit the Binna Burra lodge's charming Tea House nearby. With a warm kitchen serving a range of nourishing meals, it's the perfect spot to satisfy your hunger after an exhilarating day at Happitat.

Are there restrooms available?

Yes, restrooms are available in Bellbird Clearing before you start your adventure.

Please note there are no restrooms available on the trails or cliff sides.

Adventure Requirements

How physically demanding are each of the adventures?

While fitness requirements vary depending on the adventure, having a basic level of physical fitness will help you enjoy the experience fully. For instance, if you can hike for three hours, you should be ready for most of our adventures. But remember, at Happitat, finding your 'happi' is not only about physical resilience but also mental strength. Prepare yourself for the thrill of hanging 200m off a cliff edge!

What age limits do the different adventures have?

At Happitat, we believe in adventure for all ages. We recognize that age doesn't always equate to ability. In consideration of individual capabilities, we have implemented a height and weight restriction for our adventures rather than an age limit.

Are there height/weight requirements or maximums?

To ensure safety and comfort during our adventures, we do have a 120cm height and 130kg weight restriction in place.

Can I take photos or videos during my adventure?

Absolutely! We encourage you to capture and document your Happitat adventure to relive those heart-pounding moments. For your safety, we recommend using hands-free or helmet-mounted cameras, allowing you to focus on your climb while recording your experience.

However, please be aware that the use of your mobile device is at your own risk, and Happitat cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss of personal items during your adventure.

Exciting news – if you prefer not to worry about equipment, we offer GoPro rentals! Now you can decide when and what to film with the convenience of a high-quality camera. Whether you choose to use your own device or take advantage of our GoPro rentals, get ready to strike a pose against the backdrop of the cliff or mid-air, capturing those breathtaking moments during pauses at stunning views or whenever you feel inspired. Memories you'll cherish for a lifetime.

What equipment do I need?

Happitat provides all the necessary equipment for your adventure. For your utmost comfort, we suggest you wear closed-in activity shoes with good grip and non-restrictive clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.

Is there any special gear I should bring?

Besides your spirit of adventure, all you need is appropriate clothing and footwear. We provide all safety and adventure gear. However, bringing a hat, that can be worn under a helmet, ie. a cap or bucket hat, sunscreen, and water bottle would be advisable for your comfort.

Can I bring my own climbing gear?

For safety reasons, we require all guests to use the equipment provided by Happitat. Our gear is world-class, carefully selected and maintained to ensure the highest safety standards.

Where can I put my belongings while climbing?

We understand that you'll want to keep your belongings safe while enjoying your adventure. We provide a small number of secure lockers where you can store your personal items during your adventure at Happitat for a small fee. We do recommend however to not bring valuables to the park.
